CONSULTANCY
Requirement : All consultants will need to be registered with the Ministry of Finance, the Board of Engineers or their respective professional bodies.
There are various opportunities for engineering consultancy works in design and project supervision as well as many other specialty works. Consulting specialists are required in the following areas :
- Civil Structural, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Preliminary & Detailed Design
- Water Treatment Plants, Water Service Reservoirs, Water Intake Structures, Dams, Pumping Systems, Sludge Treatment Facilities; Rehabilitation of Water Supply Systems, Non-revenue Water (NRW) Management
- Automation, Control and Instrumentation, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) System, Security Systems,
- Project Management, Construction Management,
- Bio Gas Facility, Chemical Processing and Storage, Conservation and Resource Management, Cost Estimating, Desalinization, Emergency Water Services, Environmental Impact Assessments, Facilities Management, Feasibility Studies, Geographical Information System, Geotechnical Investigation, Groundwater Management, Process Audit, Soils and Geologic Studies, Surveying and Mapping, Tertiary Effluent Treatment, Testing and Inspection, Tunnel, Underwater Inspections, Value Engineering, Waste Management, Water Asset Condition Assessment, Water Quality Improvement, Water Reclamation, Treatment and Distribution
CONTRACTOR
Requirement : Contractors will need to be registered with Pusat Khidmat Kontraktor and Construction Industry Development Board. Possession of permit type C from Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara will be required.
The specialties that PAAB may require are as listed below:
Water Engineering : Established contractors capable in constructing dams, inlet works, pump station, reservoir and water retaining structure, water treatment plants, pipe works and fittings, and sludge treatment facilities. This will be PAAB's main focus over the next decade in developing new water infrastructure.
Mechanical Engineering : Established contractors in pumping installation, plumbing and sanitation system, air conditioning and ventilation system, water treatment installation, fire equipment protection system, crane and hoist equipment, laboratory equipment.
Electrical Engineering : Electrical building systems, Lightning protection system, power plant, main switchgears.
Control and Instrumentation : SCADA and telemetry, main control system for water and sewerage systems.
Other types of works such as those involving non-revenue water, tunnelling and pipe jacking are also available.
SUPPLIER
Requirement : Suppliers will need to be registered with Ministry of Finance.
For suppliers, the various opportunities available are as per below:
- Supply of major equipment such as pumps and valves,
- There is also a need for general supply of items such as safety equipment, IT products, office equipment and supplies, laboratory products, electrical products, office furniture, corporate printing, telecommunications, security, travel and others.
