Dato’ Ir.  Dr. Mohd Asbi Othman was appointed as Board Member on 19 October 2022.

He began his career with the Public Works department (JKR) upon graduation and continued his service with JKR as a Research Engineer before leaving the government service in 1996 and becoming a partner in an engineering consultant firm, Perunding ZNA. In May 2002, he left Perunding ZNA to establish Mohd Asbi Associates Sdn Bhd, where he is currently the Managing Director.

In the course of his career, he has gained vast experience as an appointed investigator for notable events such as the Highland Towers Condominium collapse tragedy; debris flow in a slip road at Genting Highlands; the failure of Hill 10, North South Expressway, Gua Tempurung; Bukit Lanjan Rockfall at KM21.8 North Klang Valley Expressway; and the Bukit Antarabangsa landslide in 2008. He has also published more than 40 papers in journals and proceedings for local and international conferences.

He graduated from the University of Southampton in Civil Engineering in 1983 and gained a PhD from the University of Bristol in 1989. He has obtained a P.Eng. from the Board of Engineers Malaysia in 1996, and a Fellowship from the Institution of Engineers Malaysia in 2013.2008 - Appointed by JKR as investigator of Bukit Antarabangsa Landslide.
