Submissions are open to Malaysian-registered organisations, including design consultants, contractors, operators, implementing agencies, technology providers, researchers, research organisations, academic institutions, and industry R&D teams, subject to the specific eligibility requirements of each category.

Category 01

Best Project — Water

3 Awards Available
Recognising outstanding delivery in water treatment plants, pipeline works, reservoir construction, and rural water supply projects.

New Project Rehabilitation Rural

Category 02

Best Project — Sewerage

2 Awards Available
Honouring excellence in sewerage treatment plant construction, network development, and rehabilitation of sewerage infrastructure.

Most Innovative Solutions (Water & Sewerage) — Made in Malaysia

All submissions are assessed across six dimensions by an independent judging panel.

Project Delivery

Performance on time and cost efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.

Quality & Performance

Reliability and quality of the outputs delivered.

Technical Excellence

Level of engineering complexity and quality of execution.

Sustainability Impact

Contribution to environmental sustainability and ESG outcomes.

Value Creation

Long-term benefits and overall cost efficiency delivered.

Innovation

Adoption of new technologies or innovative approaches in execution.

Official announcement of MWIA 2026, including all categories and eligibility criteria.

Submissions Open

Online submission portal opens at 12:00 AM via official form.

7 August 2026

Submission Deadline

All entries must be submitted by 11:59 PM. Strict — no exceptions.

11 – 30 August 2026

Evaluation Period

Judging panel assessment; site visits for shortlisted entries where required.

11 September 2026

Winners Announced

Finalists and winners officially notified.

22 September 2026

Awards Ceremony

Gala night and official presentation of trophies, plaques, and certificates at MWA's Annual Dinner.


Who Can Apply

Eligibility Requirements

Category-specific eligibility requirements apply. Applicants are encouraged to review the Award Guidelines before preparing their submissions.

General Requirements

  • Organisation registered in Malaysia, majority Malaysian-owned
  • Project implemented within Malaysia
  • CMGD issued between 1 Jan 2023 – 31 Dec 2025 (Categories 1 & 2)
  • Solution completed between 1 Jan 2023 – 31 Dec 2025 (Category 3)
  • Multiple submissions are permitted, provided each project or innovation is submitted under one category only

Eligible Applicants

  • Main Contractors (Categories 1 & 2)
  • Design Consultants (Categories 1 & 2)
  • Consultants, Contractors, Technology Providers, Startups & Implementing Agencies (Category 3)
  • Researchers, Innovators, Research Organisations, Academic Institutions, Industry R&D Teams & Implementing Agencies (Category 4)

Submission Notes

  • Each project, innovation, or research submission may only be entered under ONE award category
  • All submissions and supporting documents must be submitted through the designated online submission portal
  • No seconder required
  • Submissions may be prepared in English or Bahasa Malaysia
  • Submissions are accepted only through the official online submission portal. Manual, email, or hardcopy submissions will not be accepted
