The project commenced on 15 February 2008. Pengurusan Aset Air Berhad has appointed SMHB Sdn Bhd in association with Ranhill Consulting Sdn Bhd and KTA Tenaga Sdn Bhd  to undertake the study, design, tender and supervision of construction of this project 'Development of Langat 2 Water Treatment Plant and Water Reticulation System in Selangor Darul Ehsan/WP Kuala Lumpur'.
