SEMANGAR WATER TREATMENT PLANT

The existing Semangar Water Treatment Plant is located near Kampung Semangar, Kota Tinggi District which was commissioned in year 2004. It has a design capacity of 159.1 MLD.  The intake and raw water pumping station is situated on the right bank of Sungai Johor. In view of the expected growth in Johor Bahru and surrounding areas, the upgrading and extension of Semangar Water Treatment Plant from 159.1 MLD to 318.2 MLD is required. The purpose of this project is to cater the growth in demand in Johor Bahru and its surrounding areas.

Project Outcome

  • With the completion of Extension Of Semangar Water Treatment Plant will increase the existing supplies by 159.1MLD resulting in the ultimate capacity of the plant 318.2MLD

  • With the completion of new line distribution pipe will increase treated  water supply from Semangar Water Treatment Plant to Bukit 75 Reservoir.

  • This project has increase storage capacity for treated water at Bukit 75 and  will able to cater the increasing demand.

  • This project has increase storage treated water at Tangki Kulai 2 to cater increasing demand at Bandar Kulai and Sedenak.

  • By having this project, additional storage capacity from RC Reservoir Bukit 75 will distribute to Pulai and improve low pressure at Taman Universiti.
