The Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated the need to adapt to online and remote education, but some families faced so many challenges in providing their children with quality access to online education.
Many parents are struggling, especially those with more than one child, to provide enough devices for their children to utilise during their home-based teaching and learning (PdPR).

In the name of humanity and as a responsible corporate citizen, we must do what we can and take the responsibility of providing laptops to these students in need, especially in these unprecedented times where schools are closed and learning can only be done online.

As such, Pengurusan Aset Air Berhad (PAAB) is committed in supporting the government’s efforts to provide necessary equipment to facilitate online studies nationwide. During our Sustainability CSR event – Majlis Penyerahan Sumbangan Pelajar Cemerlang Daerah Rompin held on 2 October 2021, PAAB donated laptops to 55 best students in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2020 from the bottom 40 (B40) families in District of Rompin, Pahang to facilitate their online studies when they enrol into universities. It is hoped, the contribution will create a long term value to the recipients.

The event was held at two venues; Dewan Bougainvillea, Rompin Beach Resort and Dewan Serbaguna Tun Abdul Razak, Keratong, Rompin. Chairman of PAAB, Dato’ Sri Hasan Arifin graced the event and handed over the laptops to all recipients.
Also present was the State Legislative Assembly (ADUN) Bukit Ibam, Datin Samsiah Arshad, ADUN of Muadzam Shah, Ir. Razali bin Kassim and Chief Executive Officer of PAAB, Abdul Hadi Ali.

The devices were delivered to SPM best students from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Pontian Jaya, SMK Rompin, SMK Rompin Permai, SMK Tanjung, SMK Tekek, SMK Agama Pahang, SMA Al-Hasanah, SMK Chanis, SMK Bandar Tun Razak, SMK Keratong, SMK Muadzam Jaya, SMK Muazdam Shah, SMK Perantau Damai, SMK Perwira Jaya and SMK Selancar.
