Non-Independent And Non-Executive Director
Salmiah Ramli holds an Advanced Diploma in Accountancy from Institute Teknologi MARA and a Master in Business Administration (Finance) from International Islamic University Malaysia. She is a member of the Malaysia Institute of Accountant (MIA), Associate Member of CPA Australia and a Member of Charted Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA).
Embarking her career in the Malaysia Civil Service as an accountant in the Multilateral Trade Relation Division, Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) in 1994, she then moved on to the Ministry of Health Malaysia and was promoted as Principal Assistant Director in the Pension Trust Fund Division, Accountant General’s Department of Malaysia in 2003.
Due to her experience in the anti-dumping procedures and investigations in MITI, she was appointed by World Trade Organisation (WTO) in 2002 as one of the three Panelists for the Dispute Settlement Board on Anti-Dumping and Countervailing Measures between United States and India.
Between 2007 to 2012, Salmiah Ramli has held various positions in Royal Malaysian Customs and Ministry of Finance.
In March 2012, began her involvement in the Development and Implementation of Accrual Accounting when she became the Deputy Director in the Accrual Accounting Implementation Team (PPPA), subsequently as Deputy Director for the Information Technology Management Division (BPTM) and as the Director of BPTM from October 2017 to October 2019. Currently she is the Director of Central Operation and Agency Services Division (BPOPA) since 29th October 2019.
Salmiah Ramli was appointed as Pengurusan Aset Air Berhad’s Board Member on 31 December 2019.
