Datuk Nik Azman Mohd Zain
Datuk Nik Azman graduated from University of Malaya with Bachelor of Science (Hons) in 1974. He went on to obtain his MBA in 1976, from Roth Graduate School of Business, Long Island University in New York.
He started his career with Unilever in 1974 and spent two years with Exxon Mobil as a Financial Analyst after obtaining his MBA. From Exxon, he joined SGV (now Deloitte) in 1978 as an Assistant Consultant and was made a Management Consulting Partner in 1982, specialising in Strategy and Operations.
In 1990, Datuk Nik Azman became Partner-in-Charge of Malaysia’s Deloitte Consulting operation and was appointed as its Consulting Head for South East Asia in 2007.
As a proficient practitioner in consulting with some 35 years of experience, serving a multitude of private and public sectors, his passion was in competitive strategy and organisational renewal. Datuk Nik Azman had helped clients developed business strategy, transformed organisations and their people focusing in the areas of structure, organisational culture, competency, skill sets as well as reward systems. The objectives were to craft winning strategies and produce high performing organisations to deliver the required outcomes.
Outside consulting and the office, Datuk Nik Azman was an integral member of the Panel Judges and presided over SME Corp’s Enterprise 50 Award and moderator for Prime Minister’s SME Innovation Award. For many years, he also led the Panel of Judges for the selection of Malaysian CEO of the Year – an annual award programme of Business Times-Maybank-American Express.
Datuk Nik Azman retired from Deloitte in 2011 and since then became a member of few Boards including as Chairman for the National Bank of Abu Dhabi and IRIS Technology Berhad as well as FIC’s sole Independent Board Member. He joined Pengurusan Aset Air Berhad’s Members of the Board on 12 April 2019.
