Ir Tham Yee Kiong has been appointed as Technical Advisor of PAAB in 2012. His responsibilities include managing the design works, assessment of assets conditions and providing recommendations as well as providing technical advice on construction works and maintenance of assets.

Tham started his career with Jabatan Parit Dan Taliair, Negeri Sembilan where he was involved in survey, design and tender works.

From 1978 to 2001, he was attached to an engineering consulting firm, Esa Jurutera Perunding Sdn. Bhd and held various positions there, ranging from Engineer to Director. As the Director of the company, Tham was responsible for the overall management of the company. He was also involved in the design and supervision of water supply, sewerage, roads, drainage, low- rise buildings and factories projects.

Subsequently, he joined Rank Plus Corporation Sdn Bhd as a Project Director providing technical management services on flats, bungalows and factories projects. He was later attached to Cypark Sdn Bhd as a Senior Design Manager and was responsible for managing design works for a water front project in Putrajaya.

Shortly after, Tham joined Rohas Euco Industries Bhd in 2004 as a Senior Manager in charge of design and detailing works on microwave and transmission towers, substation structures and water tank supporting structures which were exported to various parts of the world. He was also responsible for the project management of a 60MW hydropower project in Lao PDR.

Tham holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engineering) with 1st Class Honours from University of Malaya. He is a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers, Malaysia (BEM). He is also a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, United Kingdom and the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM).
